Waking up rested.
Having a clean house even if I don’t have the housekeepers in SF.
Hummus and chips for lunch.
Going out for a burger and finding an adorable little neighborhood on Portola.
Bathing with Adam – I should do it more often.

We played hide and seek. And this time Adam wanted me to hide – and he found me. Each time he wanted to be the one who found me.

It was fun and we played for almost an hour. It’s a developmental stage thing and I love it.

I’m not choosing because I am so thankful for all of it
1-the morning fog and view
2-a job that needs me and is happy I’m there
3-playing basketball and pillow fights with Adam
4-four offers on the house and one is $48k over what I’m asking (at first I was in denial but now I’m remembering to be accepting of good fortune and blessings

This is for yesterday: My happiest moment was going to bed.

Don’t get me wrong, I liked orientation and genuinely pleased to be on the Walmart eCommerce team. I’m going through all of the system set up stuff now. The picture is the fish tank in the waiting area.

I was thrilled that Henry was able to watch Adam while he was sick on my first day. He did a great job with the schedule and even got Adam to make his bed.

Adam recovered from his fever and was back to his jovial and active little self. Whew.

I am over the moon that there will be 3 to 5 offers on my little La Crescenta house. (Sad to see it go but happy that it will yield money for the other rental houses).

But with only 4 hours of sleep the night before and the stress of all I just wrote about – think about that. I just wanted bed and I went at 9:30 and slept all night. Yes! That was my happiest moment given all that I pulled off.

Don’t laugh but . . .

I just got back from a walk with the dogs ( the whole family) and I’m very happy that I took the time to program the thermostat. For the past 2 days it’s been magical to have automated temp in the house.

Although it’s been warm by San Francisco standards I needed my temps like I’m used to. Silly but after a major move, with the house in an upheaval it’s a comfort.

My happiest moment today:

It was taking Adam to preschool for a half day. (Please, don’t judge).
First was the relief when we met his new teacher, Miss Cecily, and seeing how kind she is. Perfect!
Second was 5 hours of time to do my thing at my speed. For 2 weeks I’ve had Adam and it’s wonderful but keep in mind the move and all the changes. I’ve felt horrible that tasks needed to be done and he’s been on his own more than normal. I’ve seen a little acting out to get my attention. Not to discount, he hasn’t been napping since he’s not learning and at preschool and I’ve been dragging him to target and Home Depot each afternoon instead of the park.

So to have him plugged into school again AND personal time was awesome. Some errands and some sushi and some dedicated time with Henry. Also a tiny bit of site seeing down town. Yes! I’m human.

I had a few:
1) French toast with Almond milk; mainly a nice hot breakfast
2) seeing the sunrise, again from the large windows
3) hooking up the gas to the dryer
4) biting the bullet and installing the 4 foot long medicine cabinet. It fill the space and have storage in the crazy bathroom in this house.
5) another 5 or 6 boxes down! It won’t be long now.
6) texts from my friends for New Years

So grateful to Adam for letting daddy do his thing and Henry for all the help.

Hard to decide. First, I woke up with definite ideas on this house. Like, seriously where to set things up. (I took it kinda easy yesterday). Henry was helpful while Adam, once again, was plugged into the TV. Pictures started going up. We are in a nice enough old house but honestly I miss the La Crescenta house. Having the pictures up and more more boxes emptied have me an energy boost.

Adam got to see the peak by he house. It’s a nice community park with services like an auditorium, gym, playground toys. Adam rode his bike too. It was a nice day and we took PBJs for a lunch in the park.

The cable guy connected the cable and we have a wireless house again. Hello to Netflix and Hulu and my iPad. Civilization. I was so relieved I chilled for 30 mins.

For New Years Eve dinner I made chicken piccata again. I love how good it is and easy to make. It a warm and tasty with the noodles. Oh, and wine- yup, it’s been months but I uncorked.

A full day now that I think of it. A good day now that I’m reflecting on it.
