Sitting here now after a long day. Weeds pulled, place vacuumed, toilet cleaned, a little picnic at the shore floors washed downstairs, laundry folded and salmon made for dinner. Whew. I’m happy it’s accomplished but tired.

The dogs are bathed too, but that was by Henry and Adam.

My 2 hour nap. Apologies for all looking forward to something more substantial but after a long week a nap was just what I needed.

We took Zacki to the vet today. He’s lost more weight and this may be the start of his final chapter.

Adam wanted a seat on the scale. Adam is 43 lbs and Zacki is 61. Zacki is now underweight and borderline too skinny. He used to run in the low-to-mid 70s.

I have NO idea what happens when I’m not here but can home to a house filled with mud, dirt caked on the dog ( and it still is ) and the yard is destroyed. The sod I spent hundreds on is destroyed. It’s like a teenager threw a party.

For Halloween the little Montrose shops close the street and everyone is out in costume The store owners give candy for trick-or-treaters.

Last year Adam had an ear infection and we were in the emergency room. So this year was our first.

Adam was overwhelmed with the people and costumes and trick-or-treating. And it had been a long day of partying at Preschool.

He got really quiet in the commotion and I asked him “are you ok?” He answered me “I’m just really happy!” Yes!

25 pieces of candy and a fun night out for us Dalmatians.

I’m not sure but I sure loved seeing Adam and Zacky playing. Of course, Zacky ended up being ridden like a horse and took it all in stride.

A full day with morning Lionheart sports and swings and a trip to the hardware store. It’s a toss up between)
A) hiding under a big towel with Adam from the world and a crocodile ( which he thinks are scary) or
B) backyard improvements; just basics make it look good. Nothing extra. A place for us to play or relax.

It was this beautiful 70 degree so cal day and I’m not choosing:
1) morning at Lionheart Fitness in the park. Adam loved it and was very sweet with the other players. ( he kept checking in with me and I gave him a thumbs up and all morning long he gave me a smile and 2 thumbs up.). I also met the most wonderful parents and we talked preschool and kids – I felt included and one family live a mile from me.
2) I spent dedicated time with Zacki in the afternoon and he got a bath and coffee on like the old days.
3) I pushed the little bathroom forward. I was tired of it sitting there and so I came home, cut the wood, framed the half wall and it felt good. I was really motivated by my trip to Restore, the Habitat for Humanity store and my little custom finds.
4) had a long overdue chat with Patti Breyfogle. She’s a wonderful professional and friend and it feels good to have that caliber of person around.

I’m happy with today.
